About CTC

CTC is a radical retreat to recharge and reinvigorate your teaching! We are pushing the boundaries of piano pedagogy and encouraging teachers to think outside-the-box. Topics include:

  • improvisation
  • composition
  • movement
  • student-led learning
  • pop & contemporary music
  • multimedia recitals
  • virtual piano ensembles
  • playing for silent films
  • practice challenges
  • empathetic teaching
  • …and more!

Sessions include presentations, interactive workshops, discussions, teaching demonstrations, repertoire showcases, and performances.

You will have not one, not two, but three featured presenters at this event!

Christopher Oill

is a concert pianist, composer, and teacher, whose career revolves around creativity and innovation. In addition to his own business, Piano Universe LLC, he has worked with Faber Piano Adventures and FJH Music Company Inc. as a composer and arranger. He holds an MM in Piano Performance Pedagogy from Arizona State University, and a BM in Piano Performance and Music Education from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam

Tony Parlapiano

– is a piano instructor and creator of popMATICS, an online music program that makes music as easy to play as it is to listen to. Tony resides in Massachusetts and carries a copy of his birth certificate to prove that Parlapiano is, in fact, his real last name. Tony never took piano lessons as a child! His unique perspective and creative approach allow him to relate to today’s student

Clinton Pratt

– owns a multi-teacher piano studio in Cincinnati Ohio, is an RCM Examiner, serves on several boards and committees, and has presented over 40 teacher workshops at local, state, and national conferences.

Clinton can’t get enough of outside-the-box approaches and constantly uses improvisation, Dalcroze Eurhythmics, games, and creative “recitals” in his studio.

Join us for 3 days of exciting workshops, teaching demonstrations, & networking in-person!
